Lavender officinalis, true lavender or narrow-leaved lavender (Lavandula angustifolia Mill.) is a species of subshrubs of the Lamiaceae family. It is a plant that is appreciated for its smell. It is the most appreciated of the lavenders for the olfactory quality of its essential oil. In the wild, it grows mainly in Provence but it can be cultivated in more northern regions, especially since there are many cultivars. Lavender is used in many areas. Indeed, it is particularly interesting for the field of medicine, and is regularly used in the form of essential oil. It is also used for ornamentation in the form of bouquets, or in perfumes, soaps and other cosmetic products for its pleasant smell[10].
